History of NAD

NAD was founded in 1972 as a completely new audio company. A group of HiFi importers in Europe, all passionate music lovers, had the goal of developing HiFi components that would offer excellent sound quality despite moderate retail prices. When founder and long-time CEO Marty Borish hired sound engineer Björn Erik Edvardsen as a developer, he laid the foundation for the magical world of NAD. Under Edvardsen's leadership, the legendary NAD 3020 was created, which became the best-selling amplifier in HiFi history. Further groundbreaking innovations followed, such as the first cassette deck with Dolby C called 6100, the revolutionary premium CD player NAD 5200, and the digital amplifier M2, which disproved the prejudice that digital HiFi components would not sound good.
