Throughout its history, QUAD has been responsible for many groundbreaking products, but none is as famous as the ESL - the world's best-known electrostatic flat-panel loudspeaker, a technology invented by QUAD founder Peter Walker. QUAD has used its experience with electrostatic speakers to develop its planar film diaphragm headphones - the ERA-1. To ensure a natural sound in keeping with the company's heritage, QUAD's engineers developed a planar magnetic drive film that offers fast, open and transparent performance, similar to the famous ESLs.
